Job Profile



  • The sales executive’s job is to maintain and grow sales and gross margin for the product range in line with company budgets and strategic plans. To manage sale of the company’s products and services in defined geographical areas.


Job Responsibilities



  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

  • Duties include the following, measurable in terms of time, cost, quality or quantity.

  • Day to Day Management – To make multiple customer visits on daily basis and achieve sales targets as assigned.

  • To introduce new and existing product to the customers and follow-up with them to increase sales numbers.

  • To identify new customers, monitor stock levels, payment compliance and follow-up with existing customers.

  • To prepare daily sales report and submit to FRT without any failure.

  • To build dealer network in multiple markets in close supervision of FRT/ART.

  • To monitor dealer stock and support dealer in achieving secondary sales target.

  • Sales Growth Targets – To ensure Sales Targets are achieved as per assigned product and territory through effective market penetration, follow-up and customer relationship.

  • To develop dealer network in assigned territory and achieve primary and secondary sales target through dealer.

  • Customer Relationship – To develop good customer base, manager customer relations, facilitate business managers/sales head to organize various business meets/seminars to boost customer intimacy.

  • Reporting – To prepare all applicable reports in time for accuracy and in order to ensure that they match the functional requirements, policies and standards.

  • Related Assignment – To perform other related duties or assignment as and when assigned.

The Role



  • Reporting to the Matron, the Chef/Cook will be responsible for preparing meals for both patients and hospital staff. The incumbent is responsible for preparing nutritious meals for patients and hospital staff. As a Chef / Cook, you will be required to work with different kitchen appliances and tools.

  • The activities of the Chef / Cook include; creating menus for inpatients and hospital staff, preparing meals for patients and hospital staff, serving inpatients and hospital staff, seeing to the cleanliness of the kitchen, and, washing dishes, pots, and other kitchen utensils.


Responsibilities



  • Plan menus that are varied, nutritionally balanced, and appetizing, taking advantage of foods in season and local availability.

  • Prepares meals according to menus, special dietary or nutritional restriction, and numbers of portions to be served.

  • Prepares meals according to the dietary specifications of the patients as instructed by the Matron or Ward nurses.

  • Makes adjustments to the menu to accommodate patients with allergies or specific diet concerns.

  • Portions arrange and garnish the food to be served to patients or staff.

  • Operates various kitchen appliances such as a blender, microwave, electric kettle, or sandwich machine.

  • Cleans food preparation areas as determined by kitchen best practices and Hospital policy.

  • Responsible for storing food items appropriately and at the right temperature.

  • Estimates expected food consumption and plan appropriately for the week.

  • Compile and maintains records of food use and food purchases.

  • Advice the Hospital on meal prices based on calculations of ingredient prices.

  • Monitor menus and spending in order to ensure that meals are prepared economically.

  • Makes requisition of food supplies, kitchen equipment, and appliances based on estimates of future needs.

Qualifications

General Position Summary


The Program Performance and Quality (PaQ) Director oversees the PaQ unit in Nigeria. The role of the unit is to create organization-wide systems that ensure the development of consistent standards, processes and practices of program management and to improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of Mercy Corps’ programs. The PaQ Director plays a key role in helping build an environment of evidence-based programming and adaptive management at all levels, while at the same time providing support to create a culture of training, coaching and integrating effective tools and techniques to improve program quality. The PaQ Director must be highly motivated, self-driven and able to support Mercy Corps Nigeria’s portfolio.


PAQ responsibilities include: Overseeing the development of effective monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) processes, supporting all efforts to manage and share information and learnings across programming, ensuring reflection on research and assessments and incorporation into current and future program design; promoting a culture of quality program management, including adherence to organization standards; oversight of the technical support teams, ensuring cross-program collaboration and technical rigor; leading on gender, diversity and social inclusion approaches across the portfolio; coordination of key functions such as timely and quality program reporting (internal and external); protection mainstreaming and application of best practices across the program portfolio, including community accountability mechanisms.


Essential Job Responsibilities


STRATEGY & PLANNING



  • Provide oversight of the Performance and Quality (PaQ) team’s strategy with clearly defined roles and responsibilities;

  • Support the development/updating of the Country Strategies by leading the development and integration of data analytics derived from programs among all portfolios, ensuring the Nigeria mission is driven by an evidence-based strategy;

  • Support the development of sector strategies and support the MEL Teams in developing corresponding MEL frameworks in accordance to the overall country strategy and with relevant team members across the portfolio;

  • Lead the development of processes to support the programming team in integrating cross-program learning and ensure that lessons learned are used to inform adaptation of activities and future program design;

TECHNICAL QUALITY & PROGRAM PERFORMANCE



  • Develop and provide oversight of the Performance and Quality(PAQ) unit strategy

  • Lead in establishing systems, policies and approaches necessary to ensure and demonstrate the quality of programs through oversight of the MEL, Research and Learning, Reporting, CARM, and Technical support functions.

  • Provide support and participate along with program teams at key moments including program start-up, kick-off meetings, inception meeting check-ins, quality audits and spot checks, and end of program transition meetings;

  • Ensure technical excellence and efficient performance of technical support team, ensuring they have the tools and support needed to lead technical excellence across WASH, Cash, Food Security, Protection, Shelter, Market Systems Development sectors, etc.

  • Engage programs leadership in ongoing context analysis that enables programs and teams to adapt to significant and to work together in a collaborative and impactful manner;

  • Create and maintain systems to ensure efficient and transparent capture of program data for management decision-making and timely and informative internal and external reporting;

  • In coordination with the Director of Programs and New Initiatives and Partnerships team, Ensure the PaQ team effectively contributes to proposal development processes, ensuring the incorporation of lessons learned and technical excellence to program design.

  • Responsible for overall coordination of program implementation and delegated responsibility for field delivery of high quality programming in line with Mercy Corps standards and the country strategy.


KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT & LEARNING



  • Ensure that all reports (both internal and external) are timely, high-quality, and responsive to donors in collaboration with a variety of teams, HQ, Program Managers/Leads, Director of Programs and Country Director.

  • Support the development of key research questions with technical experts and ensure evidence generation in programs with a focus on learning and recommendations from those programs;

  • Connect best practices and learning from other programs across Mercy Corps countries to ensure an evolving and effective learning system for improving program implementation.

  • Support teams to capture lessons learned during program implementation, and feed this information into thought leadership and research opportunities and into ongoing program management and program design;

  • Support systems to ensure regular collection of impact stories and evidence from Mercy Corps’ country teams on a regular basis.

  • Support the Design and manage a country-wide Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation system supporting managers and their teams to establish real time information that can steer program implementation and maximize Mercy Corps’ ability to analyze and represent impact at a program and portfolio level to donors, government, colleague agencies, and communities themselves

  • Promote and monitor adherence to Mercy Corps’ standards, including the use of standardized indicators, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), program and adaptive management approaches, and country-level learning and strategic objectives.

  • Ensure effective collaboration between MEL staff, Technical advisors and Thematic specialists in the development of sector log frames, indicators, implementation plans, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks and related tools

  • Contribute to the understanding and application of new DM&E approaches to emerging themes like resilience, systems thinking, and complex humanitarian crises.

  • Engage in other agency level tools and initiatives to ensure country input, coordinated delivery, messaging and consistent high quality implementation in the region.

  • Ensure high quality evaluations are conducted to demonstrate outcomes and impact and accountability mechanisms are in place for all projects with a focus on knowledge management;

  • Conduct internal DQAs to ensure data is collected with attention to accuracy and consistency


GENDER, SOCIAL INCLUSION & COMMUNITY ACCOUNTABILITY



  • Support the Gender and Protection Advisor in leading the roll-out of Gender, Diversity and inclusion(GDI) and Gender equality and social inclusion strategy(GESI) as a priority area for Mercy Corps programs;

  • Ensure that an appropriate Community Accountability Reporting Mechanism (CARM) is rolled out and in place for priority Mercy Corps Nigeria programs, including initiatives to ensure consistency and standardization in systems, reporting and monthly dashboard presentation for the whole mission

  • Ensure all programs comply with MC’s Gender and SADD data Minimum Standards;

  • Create a culture of gender-sensitive, inclusive, and where appropriate, gender-transformative programming.

  • In coordination with the Ethics team, lead on protection mainstreaming across projects, including developing team and partners capacities on the matter and utilizing protection mainstreaming tools in all processes.

  • Support programs team in integrating Do No Harm approach throughout project life cycle


TEAM MANAGEMENT



  • Create and sustain a work environment of mutual respect where team members strive to achieve excellence;

  • Promote accountability, communicate expectations and provide constructive feedback via regular performance reviews

  • Maintain effective and positive internal communication with Mercy Corps staff in all field offices, this includes ensuring open and harmonious communication all of the different departments, offices, and programs.

REPRESENTATION AND COORDINATION



  • Contribute to the global and regional conversation around program performance and quality, PaQ strategies, and global program quality initiatives; PM@MC, gender minimum standards, adaptive management, TOLA etc.

  • Lead efforts in sharing best practices with other NGOs working in Nigeria.

  • Represent Mercy Corps in external coordination and donor meetings, as required.

Knowledge and Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree required. Masters or equivalent in a field related to Humanitarian or International Development or relevant fields is preferred.

  • At least 6 years experience providing coordination or management support to program implementation.

  • Experience working in the Africa region and high risk context preferred.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines and work independently is required.

  • Extensive experience with Program Quality, monitoring and evaluation, information management, and other learning efforts and technical areas in at least some of MC Nigeria focus areas

  • Significant experience implementing M&E Systems particularly remote monitoring, mobile data collection platforms and managing evaluations.

  • Skilled at delivering and facilitating training and capacity building interventions, e.g. coaching, mentorship.

  • High level of self-awareness and self-development with the maturity to deal with constructive feedback and adapt engagement approaches to different audiences

Living /Environmental Conditions:


This position is an unaccompanied position. Yola town, in Adamawa State has basic but comfortable living circumstances. The position is open to national and expatriate staff. Expatriate staff are expected to live in a guesthouse, with basic amenities as per Mercy Corps housing policy. Outside Yola, travel can be dangerous and unpredictable due to ongoing conflict with Armed Opposition Groups. Mercy Corps’ sub-offices experience variable levels of insecurity, with the situation closely monitored by country security team. Air travel is often necessary to travel between offices. Mobile phones and cellular service are widely available. Internet is available in all Mercy Corps offices. Travel to field sites will be required where living conditions are clean and secure, but basic. There are a number of health services available with evacuation options for serious illnesses. There’s reasonable access to most consumer goods, although they can be expensive.


Mercy Corps Team members represent the agency both during and outside of work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit/TDY to a field posting. Team members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and respect local laws, customs and MC’s policies, procedures, and values at all times and in all in-country venues.

General Position Summary


As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Humanitarian and Sustainable Solutions, will provide leadership and strategic direction to Mercy Corps Nigeria’s humanitarian and sustainable solutions initiatives. STRATEGY AND VISION:

● Lead and leverage the crisis analytics team to generate critical analysis of the situation in Nigeria that leads to actionable forward-thinking initiatives that address key drivers of instability and ongoing fragility;


● Identify gender priorities and approaches to address program needs and share learnings among team and senior leadership


● Develop and implement a strategy to promote local partnerships and develop a framework for national partner identification and selection and subsequent support, mentoring and oversight;


PROGRAM MANAGEMENT


● Manage and oversee the implementation of humanitarian relief and recovery programming targeting vulnerable populations in Northern Nigeria and ensure programs are on time, on scope and on budget;


● Ensure all MC administration, logistical, human resources and financial procedures are followed in relation to implementation of humanitarian grants.


● Work closely with the Finance team to review monthly budget versus actual financial management information to ensure that all program expenditure is on track and does not exceed approved budget variance limits;


● Work closely with the MEL team to ensure that all essential program, organizational metrics, and lessons learned are being adequately captured;


● Facilitate synthesis of best practices and lessons learned and promote an overall culture of adaptive learning through systematic analysis and reflection on program data;


● Ensure that all donor reports are submitted on time and to the highest possible standard;


● Foster a collaborative team atmosphere which engages and supports all team members and supports a cuture of adaptive management


● Provide support and identifying opportunities for mentoring and training for the team members to deliver impactful humanitarian and sustainable solutions programming;


PROGRAMMATIC DEVELOPMENT


● Work closely with Country Leadership and team to identify new program opportunities, and develop concept notes in partnership with team to share with potential donors;


● In partnership with the team lead the design of new emergency relief and resilient recovery programs based on needs analysis, assessments and sectoral information;


● Engage team in adaptive management practices to influence the design of new innovative and sustainable approaches to programming in humanitarian contexts


● Coordinate with program leadership (including DoP and other program leaders) of development and peacebuilding focused programming to proactively develop concept notes to strategically integrate, sequence and layer programming;


● Proactively seek potential funding sources among traditional as well as non-traditional donors, in line with MC’s overall strategy in Nigeria;


REPRESENTATION & COORDINATION


● In partnership with the team and leveraging the work of the Crisi Analytics team ensure coordination and development of a learning and influence agenda for Northern Nigeria;


● Serve as a thought leader in MC Nigeria’s humanitarian, triple nexus and resilience community and ensure full coordination and communication across the sectors;


● Represent MC Nigeria with relevant INGO/UN agencies and within humanitarian cluster coordination structures


● Represent MC Nigeria with relevant state government officials and other state agencies for example MRRR, Borno State Development Agency etc.


● Work collaboratively to build a range of mutually beneficial partnerships with other stakeholders both national and international;


● Maintain and develop relationships and partner with host Government representatives at both the State and Federal level;


● Identify, build and manage collaborative partnerships with consortium partners, sub-grantees, donors, government and other stakeholders;


● Communicate effectively to ensure overall project targets and donor obligations are met;

Knowledge and Experience


● MA/S or equivalent in international development or related field preferred.


● 8+ years of experience in international development and humanitarian response preferred.


● Comprehensive understanding of humanitarian donor ways of working and funding mechanisms required.


● Previous experience in writing humanitarian response proposals and rapidly designing emergency response programs


● Demonstrated success in programs related to emergency response required


● Thorough understanding of the context and current environment in Nigeria preferred


● Proven managerial skills required


● Demonstrated ability to function as a solution-seeker and proven success with building, managing and leading a team of professionals and the ability to function as a team player among peers.


● Effective verbal and written communication, multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization skills are necessary.


● History of working effectively and respectfully with host country government, private sector, INGO and NGO partners in complex environments.


● Prior work experience in Africa strongly preferred; an ability to work comfortably, effectively and creatively within the cultural environment of Nigeria and areas of poor security required.


● Fluency in English written and oral communication required.

Living /Environmental Conditions


The position will be based in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state with regular travel to program locations including deep field sites. The location is generally secure. Housing, health care, water, electricity and consumer goods are all reasonably accessible and there are domestic travel options from Maiduguri Airport. Air travel is necessary to get to some field locations. Mobile phones services are widely available. Internet is available in all Mercy Corps offices with some inconsistencies in the most remote sites. This position requires 40% travel by road and air to field offices that are located in highly insecure locations.


Mercy Corps team members represent the agency both during and outside work hours when deployed in a field posting or on short-term assignments.
