We are seeking to hire a dynamic, talented, and energetic and result oriented Speech and Language Therapist into the Learning Support section of the school.
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPIST
Head of School, Head of Special Needs and Principal
JOB SUMMARY
The therapist is generally responsible for the Prevention of communication disorders. Job purpose is to support with children with special needs in language, voice, fluency, articulation or dysphagia.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
The job functions include but are limited to the following:
Keeping a— of best practices in speech and language therapy and language development
Providing high quality direct speech-language therapy services to students
Assisting and guiding teachers in observing, describing, and referring suspected and identified speech and language delays/disorders. (Identification of students at risk for later problems)
Consulting with teaching teams to develop and implement of curriculum modifications and appropriate classroom strategies such as visual supports, oral motor exercises, language strips, topics of conversation, and data collection.
Ensuring students’ skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with teaching teams and related service providers.
Completing treatment notes and progress reports in timely manner and according to school policy
Assessment of students’ communication skills
Valuation of the results of comprehensive assessments and Documentation of outcomes
Collaboration with teachers and other professionals
Planning and providing appropriate treatment
Giving advice and support to family members and teachers
Performing controlled therapy sessions with individuals, groups and/or families.
Maintaining appropriate, confidential, records and provide timely reports.
Keeping a— of best practices in speech and language therapy and language development
Engaging parents and families in their student’s learning and acting as an ambassador for the school in the community
To undertake, where appropriate, other roles, which may arise either in the department or in the wider school environment.
Any other duties relating to the job as required from time to time by the Head of School /Principal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
Masters or Post Graduate qualification in a related subject is an added advantage
3- 5 years professional experience in the field

LIBRARIAN
REPORTS TO: Head of School and Principal
JOB SUMMARY
The purpose is to manage information and resources. Administer libraries and perform related library services. The Librarian will be generally responsible for selecting, acquiring, cataloguing, classifying, circulating, and maintaining library materials; and furnishing reference, bibliographical, and readers’ advisory services and also keeping the library users’ needs in mind.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
The job functions include but are limited to the following:
Selecting, developing, cataloguing and classifying library resources
Answering readers’ enquiries
Using library systems and spe…t computer applications
Liaising with departmental academic staff, external organisations and suppliers
Ensuring that library services meet the needs of particular groups of users (eg staff and students)
Managing budgets and resources and promoting the library’s resources to users
Design information storage and retrieval systems, and develop procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying information.
Explain use of library facilities, resources, equipment, and services, and provide information about library policies
Assemble and arrange display materials
Confer with teachers, parents, and community organizations to develop, plan, and conduct programs in reading, viewing, and communication skills.
Compile lists of overdue materials, and notify borrowers that their materials are overdue.
Design information storage and retrieval systems, and develop procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying information.
Develop and index databases that provide information for library users. Develop information access aids such as indexes and annotated bibliographies, web pages, electronic pathfinders, and on-line tutorials.
Organize collections of books, publications, documents, audiovisual aids, and other reference materials for convenient access.
To undertake, where appropriate, other roles, which may arise either in the department or in the wider school environment.
Any other duties relating to the job as required from time to time by the Head of School /Principal.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
B.Ed in Library Studies or any other related discipline. Minimum of Second Class Lower
Masters or Post Graduate qualification in a related subject is an added advantage
3- 5 years professional experience .
