How To Write A Resume

Writing a resume is selling yourself. You need to emphasize your positive points in a concise manner. The person reading a resume takes only ten to thirty seconds to make an interviewing decision and the resume that is too long to read goes directly to the trash.

There are five sections in a good resume: your personal information: your objective, your qualifications and achievements, your experience, and your education.

Your personal information is your name, address and phone numbers. Include email if appropriate.

Your objective is the job you want. Match your job objective to the job advertisement.

List all of your qualifications and achievements that match the job you are applying for. It is a waste of precious time to list things that have nothing to do with the job. Take as many things as possible exactly from the help wanted ad as possible.

Your experience is your past job history. List the most recent jobs first. Give the place of employment and a very short summary of your duties. Be certain to list any work history that matches the job you are applying for.

Your education is the schools you went to and the area of concentration.Be sure to emphasize any courses pertinent to the job you are applying for.

Your resume is your opportunity to sell yourself. Emphasize all of your positive attributes that match the job you are seeking. Use the five sections of the resume to emphasize that you match the job qualifications.

Your ideal resume should be concise, positive and match what the employer is looking for.

Good Luck.
