Placement Papers - Few Tips to Prepare For Quantitative, Technical Aptitude and Grammar Sections


Three important sections to concentrate to get through software placement papers are Quantitative Aptitude, Technical Aptitude and Grammar. This is because almost all placement papers have the above mentioned sections in one form or the other.


Quantitative Aptitude questions are easy for anyone reasonably good at high school mathematics. Quick recall of mathematics chapters like areas, volumes, time and speed, distance etc, can help to get through this section with ease. Knowing shortcuts to solve problems is must. Remembering formulas can help a lot in saving time.To practice for quantitative aptitude, there are several resources online and in the form of books.


Technical Aptitude section would carry questions from basic programming skills, C language, Object Oriented Programming Concepts, JAVA, Operating Systems, Computer Networks etc. These sections are easy for candidates with a degree in computer science based courses. However candidates from other streams need to refer to online material and books to prepare for the tests. This section will not be a cause of worry as the questions will not be difficult but will be from the basics.


You may practice previous and sample questions online to get a feel of these placement papers across companies. As mentioned, you yourself can notice that several sections get repeated across question papers of various companies.


Grammar section needs almost no preparation. Questions can be expected from usage of nouns and verbs, sentence formation, synonyms and antonyms. Questions will be mostly of fill in the blanks or choose the best answer type.Hence they can be comparatively easier than other sections.
