BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER


JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

To ensure total client satisfaction through the effective coordination of all the processes that are involved in the supply chain management and logistics process within the branch. He/ She must be aware of any outside influences that may affect the business processes such as legislation and policies.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and maintain relationship with customers

Liaise and negotiate with customers

Conduct surveys of consignment at client’s site

Ensure clients contract requirements are understood and utilized to meet business expectations

Develop business by gaining new contracts, analyze logistical problems and produce new solutions

Ensure that consignments are moved safely and in a timely manner utilizing appropriate equipment and tools

Maximize profitability through efficient customer service, effective and prompt communication and follow-up on all customer transactions

Resolve or escalate issues affecting the customer, staff, or senior management

Continually try to improve and develop business performance within the constraints of legislation, fuel costs and rising environmental pressures

Document and report monthly orders received/ shipped/ delivered

Ensure accurate record preparation and keeping of all operational documents

Ensure strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedure of the branch

Track transportation costs for relocation orders and vans and draws plans to reduce them accordingly

Work with management to develop a business plan and goals for the branch

Ensure safety methods, practices and programs are implemented and maintained

Develop cost reduction plans and supervises action on them

Allocate and manage staff resources based upon changing needs


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Experienced Manager with proven Operational and Commercial success with a reputable Logistics and Supply Chain Management Company

Good negotiation Skill

Possess a good understanding of Microsoft Suite

Excellent communication skills are essential
