The Governing Council of Kogi State College of Education (Technical), Kabba, in the exercise of it’s powers as contained in the law that established the College, has declared the positions of the Bursar, College Librarian and Director of Works vacant and wishes to fill them.
Applications are therefore, invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position below:
LIBRARIAN
DUTIES
The College Librarian is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and co-ordination of services of the College Library.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate must possess a minimum of Masters Degree in Library and Information Science from a recognized university with at least 15 years of cognate experience.
Possession of a Doctorate Degree will be an added advantage.
The candidate must show evidence of thorough understanding of ICT and application of new technologies in library services and operations.
He/she must also show evidence of contributions to knowledge through research and publications in reputable journals and must be a member of Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria as well as Nigeria Library Association.
Candidates applying for the post must not be below the rank of Deputy Librarian in their present employment.
Conditions of Service
The College Librarian is a Principal Officer and head of the College Library. The successful candidate shall be placed on CONTEDISS 15.
He/she shall hold office for an initial term of five (5) years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a final term of five (5) years subject to satisfactory performance.
Other relevant benefits and allowances are as contained in the College Conditions of Service as approved by the Governing Council and the State Government.
BURSAR
DUTIES
The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the College and is directly responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.
The Bursar shall plan, organize and co-ordinate the operations of the Bursary Department of the College in consultation with the Provost.
The Bursar shall also ensure that all accounts of the College are adequately kept and expenditure undertaken with the approval of the Provost.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate must possess a degree in Accounting not below second class lower division from a recognized tertiary institution plus ICAN/ANAN or other equivalent professional qualifications with at least 18 years post qualification cognate experience.
The candidate must be registered with a recognized professional body in the Accounting profession.
In addition, the candidate must have clean and impeccable records of service and demonstrate evidence of professional competence with high degree of accountability, transparency and probity.
The candidate must be computer literate and conversant with the application of ICT based accounting packages. Possession of a higher degree is an added advantage.
Candidates applying for the post must not be below the rank of Deputy Bursar or Chief Accountant in their present employment.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
The Bursar is a Principal Officer of the College. The successful candidate shall be placed on CONTEDISS 15. He/she shall hold office for an initial term of five (5) years and shall be eligible for reappointment for a final term of five (5) years subject to satisfactory performance. DIRECTOR OF WORKS AND SERVICES
DUTIES
The Director of Works and Services is responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and co-ordination of the Works and Services Department.
The successful candidate shall be responsible for the planning, controlling, co-ordinating and supervision of all services in the Department.
He/she shall advise the Provost on the acquisition, operation and maintenance of all College assets and physical facilities.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
The candidate must possess a degree in Engineering, not below second class lower division, from a recognized university and fully registered with COREN with at least 18 years post qualification cognate experience or Masters Degree with 15 years cognate experience in project/work management.
The candidate must be computer literate and conversant with the application of ICT in the operations of the Works and Services Department of the College. Candidates applying for the post must not be below the rank of Deputy Director of Works in their present employment.

He/she shall hold office for an initial term of five (5) years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a final term of five (5) years subject to satisfactory performance.
