Everyone wants to be financially comfortable in life. One of the easiest ways to guarantee a comfortable living is to become a doctor of some sort. One of the most popular professions in the medical field is dentistry. By becoming a dentist, you may never become rich, but you can almost guarantee yourself a comfortable living free from the worries of pay check to pay check living that most Americans have, which is a very good thing. The only problem with this plan is it takes a lot of work to become a dentist and not everyone is cut out for it. If you think you are cut out to be a dentist, in this article we will discuss the steps to becoming a dentist.

The first step to becoming a dentist is to do well while you are in high school. A good foundation in math and science will be worth its weight in gold by the time you are in college. Plus, by doing well in high school, you can set yourself up to go to a good college, which will help you in your quest to get into dental school.

After high school comes college. When you are an undergrad, you will have specific course requirements in premed to get into dental school. You really want to spend time studying and going to class, because your scores in college determine what dental school you end up in, which determines how valuable your degree is and ultimately how much money you will be able to earn. So be sure to keep the partying to minimum and study hard! It will more than pay for itself in the future when you have a well-paying, secure job.

In your junior year, you will have to take the DAT, or dental   aptitude   test  to determine what you dental school you qualify for. This is the most important score of your career because it will determine where you end up.

After you have completed your undergraduate degree and passed the DAT, you will have to go to dental school for four years. If you’ve worked hard studying up to this point, you should do well in dental school.

After the four years in dental school, the next step to becoming a dentist is doing a residency of at least 3 years, but depending on the particular dental field you want to go into. You’ll want to pay close attention during these few years because this is what you will be paid to do for the rest of your life!

When you have completed all these steps, you will officially be a dentist! Congratulations on your hard work, you’ve earned the right to call yourself a dentist and bring pain (and relief) to your patients.
