I have been in the position where I have had to recruit people for my family business. If you have ever been in this situation then you will know that it can be just as difficult being the interviewer as being the interviewee. In today’s difficult economic climate, there is now more pressure on job seekers than ever before, and its little wonder that some people are given to ‘stretching the truth’. Now, if they are just beefing up their qualifications then that might not be too serious a problem, but what about if they were hiding a criminal record from you? How would you know?
Sure, you could perform your own background checks but that can be time consuming and very costly. I know of one guy who even went to the expense of hiring a private detective to check out candidates for a certain job.
The good news, though, is that thanks to the internet, and something called a reverse number lookup service, you can perform complete background checks on prospective employees in just a few minutes, and for only a few dollars.
All you have to do is, with their permission of course, get their cell phone number and enter it into one of the top reverse number lookup websites to be found online. Within a few seconds you will get access to a whole range of information about the person who owns the number. You will get their real name and address with Google maps integration, their carrier information, other numbers they own and so on. However, what is of far more interest to you as an employer is the range of background information that you also have access to. You can see credit history records, criminal records if they have any and civil records such as marriage dates, birthday and (but hopefully not) death date!
Getting access to this kind of information used to take days and cost a lot of money, but now its instantaneous and practically free. If you really need to be sure about the identity and background of your next prospective employee then make sure you run a reverse number lookup check on them. Don’t leave things to chance.
