A reputable financial institution is in need of a Head Transaction Banking, which will require he/she to take the lead on managing trade relationships and ensure that the board and management team are kept informed on market opportunities, the business manager will assist the head transaction towards the achievement of Bank’s medium to long term strategic objective of being known as a “Commercial Trade Bank”.


This objective respect the increasing role of Trade in Global Business and the rationale that trade will continue to be the center point of banking transaction.


HEAD TRANSACTION BANKING


Please note the following details as it relates to the role:

Drive loan revenue objectives from a products viewpoint I.e. by ensuring that the P&L targets of or loan product are achieved

Develop high net worth clients where significant revenue opportunities exist. For most part, this list will correspond with our top 60 clients list but will not exclude the significant opportunities achievable from names outside the list.

Work with the various RM’s, risk and CBG to ensure that Trade opportunities are converted to bankable assets and revenue streams

Drive optimal utilization levels of approved trade facilities at any point in time

On a BAU, track the revenue performance of all our commercial clients to ensure complete realization of our trade revenues

Ensure that we achieve a trade products pricing approaching that is systematic, riskdifferentiated and reflects UBN assets/liabilities objectives at any point in time.

Ensure that our trade transactions generate walletproportionate levels of crosssell (at a minimum) across clients’ cash and FX wallets.

Work with FINCON, operations and IT to install an effective MIS system that supports proactive monitoring and realization of all applicable revenues.

Obtains and analyses information and work together with business unit managers to provide data that facilitates decision making.work with staff, finance committee, and the board in preparing a budget; see that the organization operates within budget guidelines.

Publicize the activities of the organization, its programs and goals


EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

University first degree required: Higher degree (MBA/MSc) desirable but not mandatory

10 years banking experience in adverse functions including business origination, Trade, Cash and SFS products, cross selling and relationship management, sound knowledge of industry and economic matters, strong client and industry contact base


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES


Must have sufficient credit underwriting experience; backed by solid knowledge of industry and financial analysis

Proven effectiveness and leadership working in a fastpaced, client driven environment; with ability for initiative and problem solving.

Strong interpersonal skill

Should possess strong communication, motivating, presentation and negotiation skills.

Expertise in producing thoughtful, detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis with a variety of analytical tool

Strong excel and PowerPoint skills

The ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and on paper, and with all organization levels.


RELATIONSHIP MANAGER


Please note the following details as it relates to the role:

Manage existing individuals and corporate customer relationships and ensure customer retention.

Build new individual and corporate customer relationship

Pay regular visits and make calls to existing and prospective customers with a view to maintaining/establishing good relationship with them

Maintain marketing data on existing and prospective customers

Identify customer needs and seek to match bank products and services to such needs

Meet marketing targets specified by commercial Hub/Team lead

Reports to the team lead on valuable new opportunities

Conduct credit appraisals

Ascertain validity of submitted creditrequest documents and ensure that customers meet credit requirement

Ensure that loan security exists, is suitable and realizable

Compile and manage loan documents

Debts recovery activities

Perform other duties as assigned by the Hub/Team lead


Education And Professional Qualification

A First degree in any discipline

A Master’s degree will be added advantage

Minimum of 24 years relevant experience in a bank/financial institution

Membership of CIBM (student, Associate, Honorary)


Required Knowledge, Skills And Attributes

Good administrative skills

Good communication and presentation skills

Sound knowledge of product

Networking capabilities

Good at strategizing
