ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, MONITORING, EVALUATION, RESEARCH & LEARNING (MERL) – GATES PROJECT


JOB PROFILE:

This position reports to the Project Director and will provide oversight on all MERL activities for the Gates MNHC project in Gombe, Northeast Nigeria. S/He will be responsible for the design and development of programme specific Performance Monitoring Plans (PMP) as well as monitoring and evaluation plans at SFH and partner levels. S/He will adopt existing SFH monitoring tools; propose new ways of measuring change through the use of both quantitative and qualitative data collection tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and managing database to track progress towards meeting project goals while taking the lead in aligning, collecting and reporting on relevant programme indicators to the organisation-wide M&E system. S/He will coordinate internal and external reviews and lead the analysis of findings with strong emphasis on learning and review regular programme reports of MNHC project for submission to donor. S/He will finalise the project monitoring and evaluation plan with the donor, manage implementation of the plan, design studies, analyze data, prepare reports, commission studies as needed, provide timely evidence for project decision making, lead data interpretation sessions with programmers and assure use of the most recent and innovative research methodologies.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Must possess a first degree in Statistics/Economics/Medical/Behavioural/Social Sciences or  its equivalent in a relevant field.

Must possess a minimum of a Masters degree in Demography, Public Health, Epidemiology or Biostatistics/Statistics.

Must have minimum of between 10-12 years progressive experience in MCH/RH related surveillance and/or research with wide ranging knowledge of research methodologies.

Must have in-depth experience in preparing research for publications and presenting research findings to public health and policy spe…ts, media and the general public. The successful candidate must show evidence of published peer reviewed articles in scientific journals.

Must possess ability to analyze and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data to inform programming.

Must be proficient in the use of SPSS, STATA, Epi Info or CS Pro.

Knowledge of DHIS database software will be of added advantage.

Must have proven experience working in a fast paced non-governmental environment, and also with a variety of donors.

Must have excellent interpersonal, communication (oral and written) and presentation skills.

Logistics & Distribution Assistant Manager  (Gates Project) (based in Gombe)


LOGISTICS & DISTRIBUTION ASSISTANT MANAGER (GATES PROJECT)

JOB PROFILE:

This is an Assistant Manager position reporting to the Assistant Director – Gates Project. The successful candidate will liaise with relevant government agencies and other partners on quality improvement initiatives at the intervention health facilities and assess these facilities in LGAs for clinical training. S/He will monitor stock levels and distribute clean delivery kits (CDK), resuscitation equipment and facilitate SFH support to state government in distribution of facility supplies. S/He will coordinate integrated support to health facilities and perform routine monitoring and supervision of essential supplies at the facility.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:


Must possess a first degree in Logistics Management/Sciences/Biological/Health sciences or any other related field.

Must possess minimum four (4) years work experience in maternal, newborn and child health care services from public or private health facilities. Experience working in an NGO is an added advantage.

Ability to speak and write fluently in Hausa and English is very critical to this position.

Must be knowledgeable in maternal and child health interventions and innovations.

INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER

This is a full manager position reporting to the Head of Internal Audit. The Internal Audit Manager will manage the audits of Society for Family Health including sub recipients, investigations, IT audit and audit of field offices in Nigeria. S/He will be responsible for audit planning, execution and report writing. S/He will prepare annual budgets and produce a detailed annual plan as well as monthly, quarterly or annual targets to achieve set objectives for the audit unit. S/He will be responsible for delivering the highest audit standards in day-to-day work within the organisation.


QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:


Must possess a first degree (BSc/HND) in Accounting or any other related field, qualification in Certified Information Systems Audit (CISA) will be of an added advantage.

Must possess an ACA, ACCA or CPA professional qualification.

Must have minimum of seven (7) years post NYSC experience in full auditing or accounting practice in a non-governmental or other relevant organisation, with at least 2 years at managerial level.

Must be actively familiar with the use of Enterprise Resource Planning software, preferably SAP.

The Assistant Manager Accounts will report to the Global Fund Project Accountant. The successful candidate will support the management of all financial and accounting issues of the Global Fund Malaria project, including budget tracking and appropriate posting of all project activities, assisting in the preparation of project financial reports. S/he will be responsible for financial control issues and also coordinate with auditors to ensure that audit issues and requirements are resolved and provided. JOB PROFILE

The Assistant Manager will be reporting to the Manager Internal Control Unit. The successful candidate will conduct audit of Global Fund sub -recipients/sub-contractors’ financial reports, assess internal control system, manage verification of assets, and ensure compliance with contract terms and donor rules and regulations. S/He will review Global Fund transactions in SFH field offices and in the head office operations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures as per SFH and GF financial reporting and other regulations. S/He will conduct investigation or forensic audit if fraudulent activities are suspected; participate in physical inventory counts of commodities, fixed assets, bank cheques and other accountable forms. The successful candidate will review tax computations and other statutory requirements (e.g. PAYE, Pension, NHF, etc) to ensure compliance as well as conduct audits of cash funds at the head office and field offices.
