CET - Karnataka Question Papers - Tips to Get a High Score


Karnatka’s Common Entrance Test (CETK) is a state level entrance examination. It is an exam for students who want to enter in the very 1st year of courses like medical, dentistry, engineering, architecture in Karnataka’s Professional Education Institutions. For the Engineering courses opted through CET, the aspirants have to appear for Maths, Physics and Chemistry subjects.


In case of the Medical stream, the candidates will have to appear for objective type tests. These tests are held in physics, biology, chemistry subjects. For gaining admission to courses in Architecture the candidate has to appear for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). The Council of Architecture conducts NATA. The syllabus of CET is totally based on PUC I and II syllabus, prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of the state of Karnataka.


There is a certain criteria that has to be fulfilled by the candidate in order to sit for CET exam. The aspirant must be a graduate with a minimum of 50% marks in the qualifying exam. If someone is appearing for the final exam in graduation, he or she can also apply as well but the criteria does not change. He or she has to secure 50% marks at least. For the reserved category of students, the percentage is lowered to 45 % minimum. The CET competition is one of the hardest competitions to crack. But if proper guidance and counselling is taken up it is not that difficult to crack. CET is a sectionless paper, therefore, it needs a good time management and a proper plan while solving the papers.

For the year 2010, CET admission to professional courses will be held from 28th of April to 30th of April, as declared by the state department for higher education. KEA, that is the Karnataka Examinations Authority is working on process to bring out the application forms and procedures at the earliest.


This examination will be held in 228 centres throughout the state. Every the application forms come out by February. A huge number of candidates are being expected to appear as free couching is being imparted to rural students from 2010.
