RF SR Engineer



 



Job Description


  • Main responsibility will be Planning and analyzing KPI of RF(from M2000) & RF related issues from Drive Test Logs(Terms investigation) and resolving signal issues to maintain optimal transmission performance for existing and new site

  • Travel (Frequent/Infrequent; Intracity/Intercity): Intracity Within Port Harcourt.

Required Qualification/ Work Experience


  • Graduate/Diploma with successful NYSC completion. Graduation in field of telecom will be preferred.

  • Work Experience – Candidate with more than 3 year experience in telecom domain on RF planning, Field DT, Pre and Post DT analysis, and optimization.

  • Good exposure in telecom technologies like GSM,CDMA, WiMAX,LTE.

  • Extensive working knowledge in PHC terrain and PHC demographic.

  • Daily KPI Analysis of access network.

  • Resolution of customer complains escalated from FSE/ CC/Inter-department.

  • Monthly Overall PHC Network DT : Pre and Post DT analysis and suggestion on improvement .

IP-Core Network Engineer



 



Responsibilities


  • Basic understandings of Cisco and Huawei switches and routers, LAN, WAN, IP subnetting, VLAN, VPN, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ASA Firewalls, switching and routing.

  • To operate in an ISP core network includes multiple vendors to serve their LTE-4G / enterprise customer.

  • To analyze Distribution network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency.

  • Troubleshooting network problems ; escalating problems to vendor / Lagos IP-Core team for faster resolution.

  • Basic level troubleshooting of network devices, links, routing. Customer related issues should be taken care promptly to maintain SLA.

  • Working knowledge on AC( Air Conditioner) operation and fault handling

The role of the Business Change Manager is primarily benefits-focused.  The Business Change Manager role is responsible, on behalf of the Senior Responsible Owner, for defining the benefits, assessing progress towards realisation, and achieving measured improvements.

Respond to and resolve SDH & MW networks issues within the timeframe of severity level agreements

Review and execute RPRs (re-provision requests) on DragonWave HC+, Huawei OSN series (especially OSN3500, OSN500 & OSN8800) and ECI box (BG-20 & BG-30) platforms with minimal supervision

Support all aspects of the network management process assuring requests, implementation, and problems are delivered as required with no impact to the global communications.

Deploy and document changes in accordance with problem and change management process

Participate in managing projects introduced by engineering team assuring full implementation and documentation standards are adhered to.

Complete the projects objectives within timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

A Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Electrical/Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

0-3 years experience in the configuration, operations and maintenance of optical fiber SDH and wireless network equipment.

A working knowledge of microwave transmission and must have undergone a mid-level training in optical and wireless networks with focus on SDH/PDH/IP transmission standards/protocols and their applications.

Basic understanding of quality of service and network management concepts with respect to transmission networks is a must.

Good knowledge of the Nigerian telecommunication market and/or experience working in a telecommunications environment

Ability to interpret topography, network design maps and AutoCAD Designs

Ability to use E-Analyzer, SDH Analyzer and other signal testing tools/instrument without supervision.

Knowledge of a vendor network management system

PROBLEM MANAGER


JOB SUMMARY

This Job Role is responsible for the coordination, management and execution of proactive and reactive maintenance activities that require a higher level of support that the one offered by the 1st Level Operations. This shall ensure that the services provided to customers are continuously available and performing to Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Is responsible for the complete process adherence and handling of problems according to SLAs/OLAs/WLAs

Is accountable for the delivery of Root Cause Analysis and problem resolution within given target duration

Raise RFC for clearing known errors and solution is found and work closely with Change Management to ensure correct resolution for the raised changes

Present managed service delivery business value and benefits to internal customers, stakeholders and influence them in the assessment, planning and management of related Enterprise Network Solutions projects.



Support the Manager in identifying specialist tools, equipment and solutions for the design of broadband and internet solutions
From time to time delegate for the Manager when out of the office or on leave etc
Monitor and ensure relevant stakeholders’ plans as regards Data Planning and Internet Rollout is in alignment with unit’s requirements.
Monitor and ensure information received from relevant stakeholders responsible for planning provides sufficient capacity to support marketing subscriber forecast.
Ensure proper documentation of projects and procedures are provided and effectively communicated across all stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and thorough knowledge of the national network through feedback from the Project Teams.
Ensure that all input to the Enterprise Solutions Network design is completed and received in a timely manner so that it falls in line with the business demands for rollout
Ensure the Enterprise network design strategy, as regards broadband and internet capability and services, ensures technology evolution capability
Develop and present agreed service delivery schedules and final agreements on behalf of the stakeholder departments involved.
Inter department collaboration / interface with other divisions within Network Group and other groups within the organization, particularly Marketing, Customer relations
Understanding the telecommunication industry (Global and Local) trends and developments in order to assess the technology and regulatory impact on MTN’s current and future business
Forecast quarterly material requirements to ensure resource availability and deployment as regards Enterprise Network Solutions projects.
Coordinate meetings, presentations for Enterprise Solutions Sales Team.
Provide technical support to all other departments regarding the network and related problems.

May be required to work extended hours
A valid driver’s license.


Experience & Training
Experience:


5 years work experience of which
At least 3 years in a delivery-driven communications network environment.
Ability to work alone with or without supervision.
Good knowledge of Broadband and internet technologies and the definition of solutions utilizing them
Good knowledge of Cisco products, technologies and future road map,
Stakeholder relationship management; customer service experience and orientation
Sound understanding of Telecom standards & working knowledge of IP/MPLS.
Data and Voice Networking protocols such as X25, Frame Relay, VOIP, and ISDN
Reasonable knowledge of Huawei and Juniper Datacoms equipment


Minimum Qualification


B.Arch, B.Eng, B.Sc, B.Tech or HND
