Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Interface with clients, superintendents, class surveyors and owners agents as required for projects.

Ensure that updated docking plans are maintained for all vessels (electronic and hard copy) and all new enquiries are verified against this list / updated as appropriate. Obtain copies of docking plans for all new vessels if required.

Prepare blocks as per docking plans and ensure that vessel is in docking condition prior to docking and undocking and check tank contents – if not satisfied then direct the owners to place vessel in the correct condition.

Dock / undock the vessels carefully and correctly so that no damage is caused to vessels or to the docks either. Maintain control over the tugs when vessel entering or leaving dock.

Amend the blocks as and when required to complete the project with due regard to vessel stability.

Ensure all safety procedures are followed and work towards improvement of the safety culture. Oversee all HSEQ requirements for project in liason with HSEQ manager.

Ensure vessel specs are complete including obtaining copies of all technical drawings required.

Schedule work scope for the yard upon arrival of the vessel and prepare all variation work orders for approval.

Project production planning / quality control & reports.

Analyse sub contractors job quotations / quality and compliance with agreed contract.

Control all materials and consumables required, effective cost controls on the use of all manpower on the vessel and reduce additional costs / excessive overtime.

Bringing outstanding items / issues to Management notice in a timely manner.

Meet agreed annual objectives / targets & produce reports.


EXPECTATIONS

Minimum 10 years’ experience as a shipyard manager or other management level responsibilities in a heavy steel manufacturing environment, Oil & Gas background.

In depth knowledge of all business functions associated with shipyard management

Ability to use spreadsheets, databases, word processing and PowerPoint,

A strong client facing background with previous experience of dealing and presenting information to major clients on large projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Senior General Ledger Accountant is in charge of managing the General Ledger of the legal entity of his/her scope.


The role will ensure that the books reflect the true financial position of the entity and that all transactions booked into the accounts are IFRS compliant, conform with relevant local statutory requirements, group policies, world-class performance and internal control standards through implementing best practices and Group policies and procedures.


The role ensures that all transactions in the ledgers are fully recorded in accordance with the Group and Country accounting policies, chart of accounts, and related accounting principles and practices. The function is ultimately accountable for the correct booking of all transactions in line with internal procedures and statutory rules.


Perform all the necessary controls and make any adjustments needed.

Job Description
Reporting to Technical Superintendent of all works carried out on a daily basis.
Attendance of all vessels during port calls, ensuring the proper allocation of available resources to complete technical work lists relating to electrical/ electronics.
Ensuring the timely correction of all technical defects reported by all vessels and providing Chief Engineer with shore assistance as required.
Responsible for the performance of all instrumentation and automation on the vessels.
Checking the fuel sounding on the vessels and ensuring that it is correctly reported.
Frequent run tests inspection of the condition of machinery and equipment on the vessels to ensure maintenance and repair meet company requirements.
Assist with the preparation of repair and dry dock specs along with Technical Supt, Master and Chief Engineer of the vessel. Liaise with contractors during repairs and dry docking.
Developing safe working practices for workshop personnel. The operation, administration and supervision of the workshop personnel.
Attending all classification/client surveys.
Rectification of any recommendations and or deficiencies as a result of the above surveys within the given time frame.
Cooperates directly with the Port Captain and Operations personnel regarding the day today maintenance and repairs of the vessels.
Ensures that PMS is followed by the vessels.
Keeping track of technical paperwork received from the vessels as directed
