Applicant Eligibility


  • Applicants shall be of Nigerian origin by birth and possess National Identity card.

Nigerian Defence Academy Admission into the 69th Regular Course 2017

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) – This is to inform the general public that online application for admission into the 69th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna will be available from 8th November to 28th February 2017. Admission into NDA is open to both Male and Female Nigerians.

Title: NDA – Application for Admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy 69th Regular Course


Examination Date and Requirements


  • The examination will be conducted as an Entrance Examination and it is scheduled to hold on Saturday 22 April 2017.

  • Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Examination Centre on the examination date.

  • The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back.

  • Only successful candidates at the NDA Entrance Examination will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.

Nature and Duration of Training


  • Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years.

  • On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA).

  • They will equally earn a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Administration


  • All Regular Course cadets will train in NDA and the cost of their administration and logistics will be borne by the Federal Government.

Reference Materials


  • In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers to interested candidates which can be purchased from the Academy Registry, NDA.

Requirements for Admission into Academic Departments of the Nigerian Defence Academy
To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), a candidate must have the following:


  • Minimum of 5 credit passes at SSCE (WAEC, NECO or NABTEB) or GCE ‘O’ Level obtained in not more than 2 sittings relevant to the Faculty of their choices.

  • Credit in English Language and Mathematics.

  • At least two supporting relevant credits to the compulsory credits  in Faculty of Military Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences while that of Faculty of Science is shown in the columns for compulsory and relevant credits. However, only one supporting relevant credit is required in the Faculty of Engineering.

  • Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old as at the month of August in the year of entry into the Academy (2018). Note that candidates who desire to join the Nigerian Air Force must be between 17 and 18 years old at entry, and also the Nigerian Army has suspended the enlistment of female candidates in her Regular Combatant programme in NDA.

  • Must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male and 1.58 metres for female.

  • Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.

  • Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.

  • Present a Certificate of State of Origin obtained from a Local

  • Government Area or a Certificate of State Indigeneship from the Office of the State Governor.

  • Working knowledge of French Language will be an added advantage.

Furthermore, candidates are to note the following:


  • Candidates awaiting results are not qualified. Application forms submitted without results will not be accepted.

  • Only examination results of not more than 5 years old from the date of examination will be accepted.

  • Currently, admission into the Academy is for both male and female Nigerians only, and is limited to Navy and Air Force in the case of female candidates.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICERS/DATA ENTRY MANAGER


BASIC FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Site Administrator (with technical oversight from the MODHIP/DODWRP-NSI Unit), the M&E Officer will provide data management support to the Nigerian Ministry of Defence (NMOD) Health Implementation Program’s HIV/AIDS service delivery efforts.

The M&E Officer shall support the delivery of HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support services at MTFs that will benefit the military personnel, their family members, and civilians from the surrounding communities.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide data collection tools (DCTs) to all Service Delivery Points (SDPs) in the facility

Provide support to care providers on the use of DCTs

Ensure client enrolment procedures are properly adhered to

Collaborate with Medical Records to ensure client records are kept in an orderly manner

Collaborate with Medical Records to ensure the use of appointment registers at the sites

Maintain the Pre-ART and ART Registers at the facility

Manage all MTF data by collecting and compiling data from various SDPs for the site monthly reports

Carry out routine data quality assessments across all program indicators/service delivery points.

Work with the Site Administrator to ensure site monthly reports are sent to the MODHIP Liaison Office in a timely manner.

Analyze and present data for site program monthly meetings

Enter patient-level data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platform

Enter site monthly program data in the District Health Information System (DHIS) for the program

Monitor computer systems for malfunctions; report malfunctions to appropriate personnel.

Maintain inventory of supplies and materials used in collection and compilation of data.

Supervise/carry out annual program assessments and evaluations in line with program priorities.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Skills/Ability:

This position requires prior experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of health programs (preferably HIV programs), data management, proficiency in the use of computers, including the ability to rapidly process and analyze data using spreadsheets and statistical analysis tools, sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, good communication skills, level IV fluency in written and verbal English, and strong interpersonal skills.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

For entry to this position, a first degree in one of the following is required: Public Health, Statistics, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Mathematics, Computer Science, and any other science-related discipline.

Work requires a minimum of three years of experience in the field of Monitoring and Evaluation, and Data Management or a combination of relevant training and experience.


LABORATORY PROGRAM SPE…T – MOLECULAR DIAGNOSIS


BASIC FUNCTIONS

Under the direct supervision of the Laboratory Manager, 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Yaba, incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the DODWRP-N – Nigerian Ministry of Defence (NMOD) President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

RNA and DNA extraction of HIV, HCV, HBV, and STI pathogens and other organisms of program/research interest. – Nucleic acid based-PCR, detection and analysis of data/results.

Internal quality control of the molecular assays and monitoring of the controls (e.g LJ charting)

Validation and verification of molecular assays results

Troubleshooting of failed assays

Performing root cause analysis, remedial action, and corrective action

Molecular Laboratory equipment maintenance according to schedule

Participation in internal and EQA program

Development, review and revision of all job related SOPs and aids

CAP/ISO accreditation preparedness

Management and Relationships


As directed by the PEPAFR Laboratory Program Manager, the post holder will report to the Laboratory Manager, 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital Yaba; and maintain a horizontal relationship with head molecular unit of Defense Reference Laboratory Abuja.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences.

Registered and licensed by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.

BASIC FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Site Team Leader, and with technical oversight from Program Staff of the MODHIP / DODWRP-N Program, the Program Administrative Spe…t will provide administrative, logistics, technical, and program management support (including financial management) to the HIV/AIDS Programs at Military HIV Care and Treatment facilities.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The program Administrative will support a wide range of administrative and logistical, data quality and continuous quality improvement activities to ensure uninterrupted delivery of HIV care and treatment services at the facilities. He/she will also be responsible for ensuring proper financial management and will support the implementation of site based work plans / activities. These duties will include:


Administration:

Provide direct administrative support on behalf of HIFASS/MODHIP to the Site Commander through the Site Team Leader in the coordination of HIV/AIDS services.

Inform the Site Team Leader and provides as directed reports on all administrative issues concerning the HIV program at the site to MODHIP, DODWRP-N, and HIFASS as approved by Site Team Leader.

Provide monthly HIFASS related administrative program/report to HIFASS Director, Public Health.

Manages and accounts to HIFASS any funds disbursed by HIFASS directly to the site and ensure that such funds are utilized appropriately for the intended purposes.

Data Quality Management:


Work closely with NMOD Hospital Medical Records Department and Medical Records Officers for improved data management systems, improved data quality, capacity building and sustainable ownership for the entire hospital services.

Supervise the Monitoring and Evaluation officer and ensures all HIV-related service delivery data are accurate, relevant, collected and reported in a timely manner.

In the absence of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the site, the PAS will assume full responsibility for all data management activities related to the HIV program at the facility

Working with the Site Team Leader, will ensure that monthly program review/M&E meetings hold at the site prior to submission of monthly program/bi-monthly commodity logistics reports to the Ministry of Defence Health Implementation Program (MODHIP) Liaison Office. The incumbent will ensure that the proper reporting templates are used and properly filled and completed.

Report all program equipment failures including utilities, immediately to the Site Team Leader and if so directed to MODHIP Liaison Office and DOD-WRPN.

Provide monthly narrative overview of the HIV program site performance in all areas of care to Director, Public Health.

Financial Management:


Assist the Site Team Leader in the management and accountability of site operating funds provided in support of the HIV program.

Ensure provided funds are utilized appropriately for the intended purposes.

Retirement of funds disbursed to the site (Reconciles purchases and expenditures and provides receipts) to the MODHIP or DODWRP-N office as directed by the Site Team Leader.

Receipt of additional funds will be based on accurate reconciliation of the previous month expenditures, including all pertinent receipts and/or justification for the expense.

Work with the Site Team Leader to identify and forecast unfunded requirements that can be supported through the monthly stipend.

Identify and develop budgets for any unfunded requirements for the expansion/improvement that can be supported through HIFASS/other stakeholders.

Logistical Support:


Work closely with the MODHIP and DODWRP-N Logisticians, Pharmacists, and Laboratory Officers, and other Program Managers to support logistical activities at the site.

Coordinate with the individuals above to identify and forecast logistical needs in support of the overall HIV care mission at the site.

Confirm the integrity of buffer stock of HIV program consumables.

Identify and alert the appropriate officer when there is need for an Emergency Order.

Ensure optimal store management.

Policy:


Monitor site activities across all departments and provides periodic updates to the Site Team Leader and when required to the MODHIP DG and the DODWRP-N Director. Updates would include identified problems and recommendations for resolution.

Provide updates to the Director, Public Health about any policy related developments, problems or recommendations that fall within the mandate of HIFASS for action.

State Engagement:


Assist in strengthening internal ownership and state engagement as well as representing HIFASS on state, LGA and community issues related to the sites.

Continuous Quality Improvement:


Work closely with key technical unit heads to obtain information about clinical quality improvement issues that require program, HIFASS/personnel intervention.

With approval of the Site Team Leader, provide monthly reports to the Director, Public Health on Continuous Quality Improvement meeting outcomes that require action by HIFASS.


SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Knowledge of: Health services management; hospital administration and practice; contractual and accounting fundamentals; quality management; human resource management.

Good computer, financial and accounting skills is necessary. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications especially the use of spreadsheets, word-processing, and some degree of database management. Candidate would be required to demonstrate these abilities.

Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain compatibility among project staff, consultants and recipients of assistance.

Well-developed written and oral communication skills. Level IV fluency in written and oral communication is required.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

BA, BSc, RN/RM or a degree in health related discipline with 5 years post NYSC, a minimum of 3 years experience in health services management position or similar experience.

Under the direct supervision of the Molecular Laboratory unit Supervisor DRL Abuja, the incumbent will be responsible for all data works in the molecular unit of the laboratory on all DODWRP-N – Nigerian Ministry of Defence (NMOD) President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) program.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for reception and registration of all viral load and EID samples/request forms from the facility and other supporting sites from the central sample reception unit of the facility.

Document all essential details from the patient’s request form to the Molecular unit sample register/log book (in soft and hard).

Enter the assay result against individual patient’s data in the log book after the test.

Photocopying individual signed results for M&E and laboratory future use

Compile, segregate and package all samples/results for shipment to various sites

Liaise with the courier service provider on prompt dispatching of results to sites with proper documentation for ease of tracking.

Report and document on weekly basis the number of samples received, tested and dispatched from each supporting sites

Complete molecular data management spreadsheets that will be forwarded to the central office in Abuja on monthly basis.

Manage the folders for individual supporting sites.

Any other assigned duty.

Management and Relationship:


As directed by the PEPFAR Laboratory Program Manager, the post holder will report to the Molecular unit Supervisor, DRL and key into the existing administrative command in the facility.

  • Therefore, all eligible candidates are to bring along their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Admission Card, JAMB result slip and TWO (2) postcard sized (3.5 x 5 inches) photographs to the Examination Centre on the examination date.

  • The photographs should show only from the chest upwards and should contain the candidate’s Name, Exam number, State, Exam Centre, Course of study and Signature at the back.

  • Only successful candidates at the NDA Entrance Examination will subsequently be invited for the Armed Forces Selection Board following which the list of admitted candidates will be published.




Nature and Duration of Training


  • Admitted candidates into NDA for the Regular Course will undergo military and academic training as Officer Cadets for a duration of 5 years.

  • On successful completion of training, graduands will earn a honours degree in a core discipline (BSc, BEng, BA).

  • They will equally earn a commission into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Administration


  • Regular Course cadets will train in NDA. All aspects of the cadets’ administration and logistics will be borne by the Federal Government.

Reference Materials


  • In response to requests from candidates for reference materials, the Academy has offered a Compendium of Past Questions & Answers at a token fee to interested candidates. This can be purchased from the Registry Department, NDA.

Requirements for Admission into academic departments of the Nigerian Defence Academy

1.) To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Defence Academy, a candidate must have the following:


  • Minimum of 5 credit passes at SSCE (WAEC or NECO) or GCE ‘O’ Level obtained in not more than 2 sittings relevant to the Faculty of their choices.

  • Credit in English Language and Mathematics.

  • At least two supporting relevant credits to the compulsory credits in Faculty of Military Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and Faculty of Science. However, only one supporting relevant credit is required in the Faculty of Engineering.

  • Be at least 17 years old and not more than 21 years old as at the month of August in the year of entry into the Academy. Note that candidates who desire to join the Nigerian Airforce must be between 17 and 18 years old at entry, and also the Nigerian Army has suspended the enlistment of female candidates in her Regular Combatant programme in Academy.

  • Must not be less than 1.68 metres tall for male and 1.58 metres for female.

  • Must be medically and physically fit and must be of good moral character.

  • Must be single male or female without legal obligation to support any child or other individuals.

  • Present a Certificate of State of Origin obtained from a Local Government Area or a Certificate of State Indigeneship from the Office of the State Governor.

2.) Furthermore, candidates are to note the following:


  • Candidates awaiting results are not qualified. Results not submitted with application form will not be accepted.

  • Only examination results of 5 years old from the date of examination will be accepted.

  • Currently, admission into the Academy is for both male and female Nigerians only, and is limited to Navy and Airforce in the case of female candidates.

When the page opens, select “Purchase Access Code” and fill in their details to pay for their application via REMITA after first obtaining their ORDER ID and REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code in the sum of N3,000.00 only. Submission of Applications

Applications should be submitted online. On completion of the online application, candidates are to download an Acknowledgement Form. Upon release of the JAMB results, candidates should return to the applications portal and download their Examination Admission Card. All applications for the 68th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy must be done electronically through www.ndaapplications.net Please read through the Requirements before continuing with the application.

1.) Accessing the Home Portal


  • Using any browser of your choice, preferably (google chrome, Mozilla firefox) go to http://www.ndaapplications.net and wait for the portal to load.

  • If you are visiting the site for the first time, click on Purchase Access Code, fill in your details as required via REMITA then click NEXT to obtain your ORDER ID and REMITA Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code.

  • Click on Pay with Remita after which you would be redirected to Remita’s site to make payment.
    • Follow the instructions on the site to pay online after which you would be returned to the sign up page on the Application Portal to create your login profile, or

    • Click on Print Invoice to print your details and pay at a bank. Go back to the Application Portal to http://www.ndaapplications.net and click on Create Account/Login, on the Login page select Sign Up Here to create your account profile after entering all the required details including the RRR Code.


  • If you have previously created an account then click on Create Account/Login and then login using your registered Email and Password credentials previously created.

  • If you have previously created credentials protocol but have forgotten your Password, click on Create Account/Login and then on Recover Password link to take you to the password recovery page to recover your password.

2.) Creating your Credentials (Sign Up)


  • All the fields on this page are compulsory.

  • You must provide your full name, email address (working email address), mobile number and password.

  • Your password and confirm password must be the same and must have at least 6 characters in length preferably with a combination of alphabets and numbers.

  • The portal will respond with a success message if you have successfully created your credential data and redirect you to the Log In Page automatically.

  • If for any reason you are not successful with the Sign Up, please try again.

3. Log In


  • On the Login Page, provide the email and password that was used to create your credential protocol, and click Log In.

  • This Action will authenticate the User before redirecting you to the Application Form.

  • If the email and password provided are wrong, the application will respond with an error message and request for another.

4.) Filling the Application Form


  • The Application Form Page opens as soon as you provide your correct credentials and it is divided into 6 sections (Personal Data, Schools Attended, Qualifications Obtained, Choice of Service, Faculty and Departments, Passport Upload).

  • All the fields marked asterisk (*) are compulsory.

  • Personal Data:
    • Application Number is generated by the System if your application is successful.

    • Fill the Form in a Capitalize Each word Format (e.g NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY).

    • Type in boxes as provided.

    • Select your option in Drop down boxes as provided.

    • Provide your Phone Numbers as (e.g 070XXXXXXXX).

    • Date of Birth must be filled in the format dd-mm-yyyy.

    • Height must be in numeric format only (e.g 170) in centimeters.


  • Schools Attended:
    • You should provide the complete name of each school attended.

    • From and To Fields must be numeric only 4-digit year.


  • Qualifications Obtained:
    • You must provide your correct JAMB details as required.

    • You can only use 1 or 2 results which can be 2 different exams in a particular year or 2 exams done in different years or 1 single exam of any of the Exam Type.

    • Select your Subject and grades as applicable.


  • Choice of Service – You must choose 2 different options here.

  • Faculty and Department – Select faculty and then the department for the course you wish to study. Only one option is available here. It must correspond with the course you chose on JAMB portal.

  • Passport Upload – Please choose passport with a clear view of your face showing your two ears with a plain background. The passport size should not be more than 300KB.

  • Save button – Use this button if you have not completed some parts of the Application Form. The platform will retrieve your saved session when next you log in to complete the form.

Note: You must complete the form and Submit before the closing date of the application.


  • Submit button – Click on this button where you have provided all the compulsory and optional fields of the Application Form. (This will automatically take you to Document Upload Form). Changes cannot be made to the Application Form once it is submitted.

5.) Document Upload Form
The Document Upload Form must be completed, otherwise your application will be disqualified.
You must upload the following documents:


  • Scanned WAEC/NECO Certificate for each of the Qualification submitted.

  • Scanned birth Certificate.

Click on Submit to Complete as soon you have uploaded the scanned documents

6.) Printing Acknowledgement Form – Please print the Acknowledgement Form as soon as you have completed the Application as specified above.


Note: The Link to Print Acknowledgment Form will be automatically seen after you have completed your application form and submitted your documents.

7. ) JAMB Result Requirement (OFFICIAL PROCESSING)

The remaining steps will involve the Nigerian Defence Academy to process your application against your submitted JAMB details:


  • You must score at least the National Cut-Off JAMB Score to qualify to sit for the Entrance Examination.

  • You must sit for JAMB UTME Examination with subject combinations relevant to your intended Course of Study in Nigerian Defence Academy as provided by JAMB.

  • Candidates for Engineering Courses must score at least 210 in JAMB.

8.) Choice of Examination Centre – After the release of JAMB results candidates who meet the cut-off mark will be required to log on to the portal and select the examination centre of their choice:


  • After Sitting And Release Of The Nda Examination Result For 68th Course, An Sms And Email Will Be Sent To You To Print LGA and Parents/Guardian Attestation Form.

9.) Printing of LGA and Parents/Guardian Attestation Form – Please log online and Print the LGA Attestation Form and Parent/Guardian Attestation Form. Follow the instruction on the Forms to complete them and await your invitation for final interview.

BURSAR

THE JOB:

The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the University and subject to the directions of and responsible to the Vice-Chancellor and University Council for the day-to-day administration and control of the financial affairs of the University.

The Chief Internal Auditor is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for duties as Chief internal Auditor as follows:


Lead the development and implementation of an internal risk based audit strategy and annual plan for the University;

Plan and conduct audits to assess controls, operational and technical efficiencies and compliance with selected policies, procedures and regulations of the University;

Review and assessment of accounting anstore system, records and procedure with routine checks and security of cash, documents and assets (acquisition and disposal);

Pre and post auditing of payment systems and all other financial transactions in the University.


QUALIFICATIONS
