Job Title: Manager, Field Operation


Job Description


  • Manage and oversee all network operation activities of assigned region, ensure strict compliance to guidelines on change execution and manage the regional field team to effectively oversee all routine and corrective maintenance.

  • Principal Functions

  • Manage the regional access, power and transmission availability; optimise diesel delivery and consumption, spares and consumables to reduced OPEX as well as effective vendor management, contract enforcement, SLA and penalty application.

  • Manage quality network growth in assigned region by ensuring there is a good handshake with Etisalat Planning, Implementation and vendors EOT teams.

  • Ensure the regional team conduct timely and qualitative PAT programs, RFS and PAC as per the approved company process, as well as on-air announcement once the minimum acceptance criteria met.

  • Manage incidence report for top management use, address issues highlighted in the individual cluster weekly report and generate monthly reports to guide management decision making.

  • Ensure proper audit, inventory and documentation of both active and passive equipment at all sites in the region.

  • Manage the Regional EOT and FMOP bi-weekly and monthly meetings with relevant stakeholders for network availability and team performance improvement

  • Develop enhanced programs for effective preventive and routine maintenance for all nodes and network element in the region.

  • Ensure seamless/effective Capex/Opex replacement project as at when due in the region.

  • Ensure FMOP team supervision, spot checks, confirmation and sign-offs of all JCF to checkmate vendor team for effective execution of the schedule accurately

  • Manage change requests, faults escalation and resolution and ensure TTs are correctly/accurately closed through the regional field team

  • Manage the human and material resources across the region and ensure staff development as well as fostering team work spirit and effective communication.

  • Ensure your team perform regular and strict follow up with colo outages for effective/timely fault resolution within the agreed SLA and mitigate re-occurring outages as well as any other duties as assigned by the Head, Field Operations.

Qualification
First degree in Engineering or a related field

RISK MANAGER


Reports To:  Group Director, Audit & Risk


SUMMARY

The Risk Manager is responsible for partnering with the business leadership team to ensure the strategic vision of IHS is developed with consideration for the risks involved, and proactively manage the risk/reward equation.

IHS Towers prescribes to an enterprise-wide risk management view of risk, and hence, the scope of the risks assessed encompasses any event that could cause deviation from the stated strategic objectives of the organization.

The Risk Manager’s responsibility also includes ensuring the Risk and Control Framework (CF1) is effectively deployed and that planned actions (to mitigate risk) are effectively implemented.

The incumbent must be able to manage challenges arising from prioritizing other assigned projects.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Director od Audit and Risk (and the Executive Risk Management Committee you will:

Drive organization-wide Risk Management initiatives and programs.

Co-ordinate and review (overall) risk management activities within IHS Towers

Monitor organization’s risk environment

Liaise with risk champions in all IHS markets on risk status and feedback basis of compliance or non-compliance

Ensure accurate updates of risk items identified on risk management system are effected

Facilitate risk assessments, evaluation of risks, and mitigation of risks and ownership in IHS Towers

Co-ordinate and ensure the identification, consolidation and reports on anomalies, common and future potential risks

Report identified risks and the status of risk mitigation actions back to senior executives

Implement strategies for the roll-out of Risk Management Process in alignment with the Group Risk and Control Framework (CF1)

Implement and ensure continuous improvements to risk management framework in alignment with group strategy.

Responsible for increasing risk awareness throughout the organization

Responsible for the implementation of risk policies, procedures and standards

Work with the Group Director, Audit & Risk to ensure the organization proactively determines which risks it will accept and retain, and hence actively manage.

Assist the Group Director, Audit & Risk in ensuring the risk management framework is pervasive across all of the internal control structures across IHS Towers (e.g., legal, compliance, financial controllership, corporate audit).

Provide timely and comprehensive feedback to the Group Director, Audit & Risk on the implementation of assigned engagements

Manage relationships with other departments.


COMPETENCIES

Minimum of Bachelor degree (or related) in business, social science and related discipline.

ACA, CIA, CRMA or relevant professional qualifications

Minimum of 7 years’ experience in risk management, internal auditing, external auditing and/or compliance monitoring in a reputable organisation with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.

Prior Telecommunications or Telecoms Infrastructure exposure is an added advantage.

Understanding of risk management and internal control framework and experience in applying them to business processes.

Ability to build consensus across various constituencies and achieve results through the effort of others

Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance, and provide appropriate direction to other internal audit team members.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, to effectively present to peers and management

Exhibit leadership skills needed to sell ideas and obtain management buy-in for constructive change.

Job Summary


  • The IT Support Senior Manager will promote new uses of information technology within the organization through the support for exploratory and innovative applications.

Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement an ICT strategy that ensures the company is prepared for changes in the nature of its business processes.

Job Title: Regional Principal Technical Officer

Job Summary


  • The Principal Technical Officer will lead and manage all operational activities for IHS in the Region, providing very strategic leadership to the technology and associated support functions. The position will work closely with both direct and matrix leadership teams to ensure that financial and growth objectives for the region are met.

  • The PTO will coordinate, organize and monitor the activities/work of the technical function to ensure that all site maintenance work and new site tower construction is carried out to required standards and within agreed budget levels.

  • This role is responsible for developing and implementing the operations and technical strategy for the region to support achievement of the organization’s objective.

Responsibilities


  • Provides technical solutions and keeps the region abreast of all developments in the field of telecommunications equipment infrastructure

  • Develops and implements appropriate stocking policy and procedures to ensure sufficient stock levels to service the capital expansion and the operational needs of the region are effectively met.

  • Manages sub contractors to ensure that the capital expansion targets of the company are met

  • Develops and ensures the implementation of the sites and technical operational budgets (including generators fuel, maintenance and repairs, electricity, security and other administration), and monitors the expenditures to achieve set targets.

  • Ensures that maintenance and construction of telecom towers are within established specifications and standards, and in accordance and in compliance with the company’s and relevant health and safety requirements, and in compliance with relevant health and safety legislation.

  • Develops and ensures implementation of building/construction, maintenance and repair policies, procedures and standards and ensures that these are adhered to by staff, and third party contractors.

  • Coordinates and ensures the installation of products and services at the towers to ensure that the company meets its contractual obligations to the customers’ complete satisfaction in the region.

  • Provides expert technical advice to the procuring and commissioning of new tower and network electrical equipment to ensure effective decision making in the region.

  • Maintain regular contact with sales, marketing and commercial functions of the company to ensure that there is continual feedback about the quality of products and services.

  • Responds rapidly to technical issues and any customer (operator) complaints so that problems are speedily resolved to customers’ satisfaction.

Summary


  • The Regional Head of Operations will lead and manage all operational activities for the IHS operations sector in the Region, providing strategic and operational leadership to the sales and operations team and associated support functions.

Etisalat Nigeria: Fixed Transmission Engineer

Job Title: Engineer, Fixed Transmission
Location:
Abuja


Job Summary


  • Provide necessary support towards the proper integration of new backbone, access and leased transmission links including copper, microwave and OFC media.

Principal Functions


  • Liaise with the regional field support engineers to resolve prolonged and repetitive transmission faults.

  • Assist in managing the performance and availability of backbone and access transmission service systems/service deployed – radio/microwave/OFC as well as interconnect links

  • Keep and maintain comprehensive sets of records for all transmission links

  • Ensure all security and network integrity documentation is completed and adhered to

  • Prepare and compile report on the transmission of leased, backbone and access transmission links in light of the SLAs

  • Assist in conducting routine performance checks on the transmission links via the NMS systems to ensure the desired QoS and customer experience

  • Assist in the implementation of preventive, corrective and configuration orders/change request work order in line with the work order/change request process

  • Escalate inter-MSC, MSC-BSC, BSC-BSC and interconnect transmission links faults; follow up with vendors and third party service providers to ensure these faults are resolved within defined SLA

  • Ensure transmission operation work undertaken by vendors/service providers meet Etisalat specifications and ensure adherence to SLAs with vendors (Interconnect Partners, Transmission link providers)

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Fixed Transmission HLS.

Educational Requirements


  • First degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering

Job Summary


  • Assist in coordinating dealer activities on a regional basis.

Principal Functions  


  • Assist in implementing the following dealer management processes; dealer appraisal and selection, dealer appointment and orientation, dealer performance monitoring and measurement, dealer incentive/reward and dealer communication.

  • Maintain and track the number range database in conjunction with the Sales Support /Operations and IT team.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with all Etisalat’s dealers.

Job Title: Manager, Legal Services (Contracts and Advisory)

Job Summary


  • Serves as a point of legal advice on local and international commercial contracts.

  • Liaises with relevant departments and divisions to draft, review and or interpret contractual agreements, ensure that contracts entered by Etisalat are consistent with corporate and governmental laws, rules and regulations


Principal Functions
Tactical:


  • Advice Etisalat on legal matters relating to corporate and project finance contracts and assist departments in the closure of financial transactions to the best interest of Etisalat.

  • Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to the unit’s activities.

  • Continuously assist in reviewing the unit/team’s activities, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team.

  • Assist in identifying required resources, personnel and funding to achieve the unit/ function’s strategy.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Operational:


  • Liaise with individual departments & divisions and provide advice on legal issues arising from contracts.

  • Review and vet contracts and legal agreements including memoranda of understanding (MoUs) or agreement (MoAs), letters of intent and other related documents.

  • Research and proffer opinion on any legal inquiries or issues of a contractual nature arising out of the interpretation and application of contracts and agreements.

  • Ensure that terms and conditions set out in contractual documentation are legally valid, consistent with Etisalat’s policies, rules and regulations, and are in the organisation’s best interest.

  • Coordinate with tender committees and concerned departments/divisions in drafting and finalizing tender documentation. Provide legal assistance to tender committees in tender amendment, tender process management, contract negotiation and finalization.

  • Provide assistance in litigation by or against contractors or other parties arising out of contracts, agreements, or similar documentation.

  • Ensure the set up and maintenance of a database of all contractual documents and related legal documentation.

  • Ensure safe custody of all tenders and contracts.

  • Assist in implementing the unit’s work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines.

  • Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the unit to optimize performance, morale and enhance productivity.

  • Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various departmental functions.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates’ performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives.

  • Ensure adequate training and development is delivered to employees in the Contract and Tender review and management processes.

  • Monitor and control the budgetary needs of the unit/function.

  • Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Head, Commercial and Corporate Services.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head, Commercial and Corporate Services.

Educational Requirements


  • First degree in Law.

  • Postgraduate/ professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.
