Job Title: Information and Communication Technology

Purpose of Position 


  • Responsible for the management of all ICT infrastructure services delivery.

  • It will own, operate, monitor and optimize the technology infrastructure and contribute greatly in total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction.

  • It will also play a leading role in the improvement of services and the adoption of recommended standards, policies, procedures and processes – especially in the migration of LBS ICT infrastructure to agreed architecture and subsequent operation.

Essential Duties/Key Job Roles And Responsibilities
These include but not limited to the following:


  • Ensure the smooth functioning of the networking infrastructure of the School at all times.

  • Responsible for the implementation, installation and maintenance of ICT infrastructure components of LBS networks.

  • Serve as contact point for all ICT infrastructure technical service enquiries.

  • Responsible for all the hardware components of the network (including UPS, PABX, IP telephony solutions, Voice over IP, local area network, switches, routers, firewall, Internet access) and their interconnections.

  • Work closely with other members of the ICT team to ensure proper implementation of all ICT infrastructure and their alignment to business needs.

Provide the necessary expertise, guidance and systems to ensure adequate delivery of:


  • ICT inrastructure projects

  • ICT infrastructure changes

  • ICT infrastructure vendor management

  • ICT asset management

  • Ensure that agreed ICT policies and standard IT service management processes are applied in all assigned responsibilities

  • Ensure effective evaluation of business risks and issues related to operational incidents and changes.

  • Implement appropriate risk management processes and take timely actions in managing potential points of failure.

  • Plan and manage assigned responsibilities to ensure excellent delivery of agreed objectives and outputs.

  • Work closely with ICT team members to understand service requirements and ensure adequate planning, design, implementation and transition to agreed service model

  • Adequate understanding of business and ICT end-user needs and subsequent translation into technical scope of work that will aid realization of the identified requirements.

  • Ensure good working condition of all deployed audio visual devices by working closely with all relevant stakeholders.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in all ICT infrastructures related projects.

Qualifications


  • B.Sc Computer Sc./Electrical Engr. An additional post graduate degree will be an added advantage (PgD, MBA, MSC, etc).

Professional Qualification:


  • Various ICT certifications is an added advantage e.g. CCNA, CCNP, MCSE.

Experience:


  • Minimum of 4 years ICT related experience in a medium/large organization.

Key Performance Indicators:


  • Appropriate ICT networks whilst ensuring continuous availability for all users

  • Effective resolution of technical problems through appropriate resource management and issue prioritisation

  • Well planned change control and minimum unplanned downtime of ICT facilities

  • Very good knowledge of wireless and wired network infrastructure technologies, especially TCP/IP, Ethernet and encryption.

  • Project management skills using PRINCE2 or PMBOK

  • Good working knowledge of audio visual systems and CCTV (closed circuit television).

  • Honours’ degree in Computer/Electronic/Electrical Engineering with up to 4 years post graduation experience.

  • Excellent relationship is required with internal customers ranging from staff members, senior managers, management and students

  • Liaison must be maintained with ICT colleagues at all levels

TASKS

Your main responsibilities in this role will include:

Acting as representative of the OEM during interaction with the customer

Preparing the tools, equipment and parts needed for a service job and understand the scope of the job to be performed

Ensuring that the documentation for the job is available and asking for advice in cases some steps are not known

Briefing with service coordinator, head of workshop or supervisor about the expected situation on site

Checking all relevant information of turbochargers in ATURB beforehand

Executing a pre risk assessment on site, briefing with crew member on ongoing other activities and instruction for board equipment

Working according to working instructions and adhering to regulatory and company OHS policy

Performing services according to the scope defined within the work order

Coordinating work order deviations in the scope with service coordinator and customer’s representative on board

Creating service reports, time sheets and delivery note, duly signed by customer with DSA

Recommending customer for immediate and future service requirements, providing feedback to service coordinator or end user sales

Collecting information about other turbochargers installed on site, informing service coordinator

Completing data collection (including DSA)

Doing self-study of technical documentation

Maintaining tools and equipment

Providing input for continuous process improvement

Maintaining a clean, safe and proper working environment

Supporting service availability targets (24/7 service availability)

Participating in BU and local training programs


REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities


  • Coordinate daily electrical maintenance activities at the plant and/or assigned team.

Requirements


  • Ensure that the performance targets of the plant are reached according to the contract in own responsibility area.

  • Coach and mentor maintenance staff and assist them to diagnose more complex problems with machinery or equipment problems.

  • Develop the maintenance working routines at the plant.

  • Prioritize and assign tasks so that assigned team resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met

  • WECS, UNIC and basic PLC knowledge will be an advantage Engineering graduate or Diploma in Electrical Eight to twelve years Experience in field service or O&M base Wartsila gas or duel fuel base power plant.

  • Train maintenance procedures and standards for the new workers.

  • Monitor the condition of maintenance equipment, materials, parts and tools and ensure those are maintained according to applicable guidelines and policies and take corrective actions when needed.

  • Ensure that the work is executed at plant according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.

  • Inspect completed work to ensure that repairs have been completed correctly and that machinery and equipment conform to specifications.

  • To monitor the banking services provided to MTNN and ensure compliance across board to the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between MTNN and banks.

  • Coordinate MTNN banking services.

  • Collate and analyse data on cash movements, bank charges, interest rates, exchange rate movements and placements.

  • Set up and manage MTN bank accounts, monitoring bank tariffs and price book for bank charges.

  • Verify all General Ledger balances relating to bank accounts, identifying banking service gaps across the business units that interface with banks.
