Context/Scope
Guinness Nigeria is embarking on a transformation of it’s business. Spirits will play a core role in this change. The Head of Reserve will lead delivery of this important pillar of the overall Performance Ambition. The channels and customers where Reserve is the most important segment of our portfolio are early in their development in Nigeria. The portfolio spreads across multiple sprits categories, with multiple premium price points.


Purpose of Role
Lead the multifunctional Reserve team to deliver breakthrough performance short and long term. Drives success across key Reserve business deliverables:- Strategy development, Commercial Planning, Performance (Full P&L responsibility).

Unlocks consumer, shopper and customer insights to generate breakthrough performance opportunities.

Relationship Management with key External and Internal stakeholders and Influencers


  • Can influence and lead cross-functionally to get stakeholder ownership for Reserve objectives. Can orchestrate Consumer Marketing, Consumer Marketing, Field Sales and the broader business to achieve shared outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience Required


  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar role, either within an FMCG or luxury environment.

  • Cross functional experience across commercial / marketing.

  • An understanding of competitors, distributors and key customers, and what it takes to win in the luxury sphere.

  • An expert coach and trainer of both functional and leadership capability development. Able to instill luxury understanding and capability into the Guinness Nigeria Reserve team.

  • HND/University Degree in commercial or equivalent field.

  • Comprehensive commercial and financial decision making experience including channel profitability and targeted trade investment.

  • A passion for Luxury and Reserve, with a real ambition to achieve breakthrough in this space.

The emergence of new Competition both nationally and regionally in the Lager Category in Nigeria has led to a significant shift in commercial emphasis.

This role is important to establishing Nigeria as the #1 Beer Market globally.

This role focuses on the step-change in investment and management of the Lager Category in Africa and beyond.


Role Metrics

Financial: Support the Lager team in the Management and accountability for implementation of A&P spend across portfolio, efficiencies and evaluation across all activities. .

CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF ROLE

We are looking to fill the role of Area Manager, Retail to join an effective & flexible field sales force demonstrating industry leadership in both volume driving & brand building activity.

The role is responsible for overseeing the sales out (depletion) in a particular geographical area.

The role holder ensures consistent profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, deployment, training and management of frontline field sales team.

The Area Manager, Retail will be responsible for developing strategies, objectives and action plans to achieve short and long term sales targets.


TOP ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Drive achievement of profitable volume/market share target for beer and spirit for the Area via delivery of Outlet Execution standards for the Area. Ensure RRS scheme within the area is fully deployed and standards maintained as per the RRS guidelines.

We are looking to fill the role of Public Affairs Manager. The role is expected to help the organization navigate complex public policy issues and communicate the company’s point of view to key stakeholder groups, including policymakers, legislators, regulators and other external stakeholders. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.

Between 10 to 15 years progressive advocacy experience in public policy-oriented government affairs, communications, journalism, or government service.

Minimum of five years of line management experience

Background in public policy, legislative affairs or equivalent experience with demonstrated public speaking and communication ability. Experience in advocacy volunteer cultivation and management.

Superior spoken and written communications and editing skills

Track-record in communicating with diverse policy audiences and elected officials

Expert knowledge of government structures, agencies and policies which impact the business at all levels in Nigeria and deep contacts in the policy community.

Ability to manage multiple tasks under strict deadlines.

Role model the HR Model and “push” HR queries to the appropriate channels. Provide training and occasional support to employees and line managers on the new HR systems, processes and embeds the new roles and responsibilities. Important to act as a trainer and not as a doer of transactional activities for Line Managers or HR BPs.

Payroll (where appropriate) – provide Workday reports to Payroll and coordinate non Workday payroll data (e.g. Overtime) to provide to Payroll.

Market HR Reporting – Runs market or business unit reports from Workday (Eg Headcount, Absence) and provides to HRBP / HRD for business performance meetings.

Exits: Local or face to face support to Line managers or HRBPs for Exit processes (e.g. collection of equipment etc.)

Local Non Workday related Employee Lifecycle processes – There will be market specific processes that are not completed in Workday, these will vary by market. The in-market first point team will be expected to deliver these.

Works seamlessly with the first point Africa SSC to ensure consistency of service to HR, Employees and Line managers.

Embed continuous improvement as the way we do things – personally championing and role modelling innovation and simplification ideas, and encouraging and demanding them from others.
